The Green Bay Packers were at one point this season considered to be a top-tier Super Bowl contender.
Unfortunately, as the team's matchup on the road against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field draws closer on Saturday night, they have turned into an underdog. Between injuries and a lowered level of play as the season has moved forward, there are many who think the Packers will be a one-and-down for the second consecutive season.
Matt LaFleur and the coaching staff have a difficult task ahead Caleb Williams and the Bears have been impressive this season. Coming through with a rivalry win in the playoffs is never easy.
That being said, Green Bay does have one thing going for them. In recent years, the Packers have dominated the rivalry against Chicago.
At this point in time, many believe that Green Bay could walk into Soldier Field and send the Bears packing. There would be nothing sweeter after such a rollercoaster season than the Packers closing out Chicago's first good season in years.
Keeping that in mind, one former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst has spoken out with a head-turning prediction about this weekend's matchup.
Of course, that former quarterback and current analyst is none other than Dan Orlovsky. He made it clear that he is expecting Green Bay to not just beat the Bears on Saturday night, but to do so in convincing fashion.
"I think the Packers win, and the Packers win handily," Orlovsky said on "First Take."
If the Packers can make that prediction become a reality, Chicago would head into the offseason on a negative note. Getting into the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the NFC just to lose to Green Bay once again would be a depressing way to close out the year.
On the other hand, the Packers could form some level of momentum by beating the Bears.
Should Green Bay find a way to pull off a victory on Saturday night, the team would head off to Seattle for a matchup against Sam Darnold and the Seahawks. That game would offer the Packers a legitimate pathway to the NFC Championship Game.
While the expectations have been lowered for Green Bay due to injuries, the season is far from over. If the Packers can find some momentum and belief, a Super Bowl run isn't completely out of the question.
