The Green Bay Packers have a glaring roster issue coming into the new NFL season.

After a late-season collapse last year, the Green Bay Packers are gearing up for what the team hopes is a much stronger 2026 season.

Green Bay ended the 2025 season on a low note, dropping five straight games to finish the season. This includes a wild-card round loss to the rival Chicago Bears, adding insult to injury for the year.

But there is a lot of hope for the Packers coming into the new season. Green Bay wants to get back to being a true Super Bowl contender, and the roster is pretty strong all around.

However, there is one glaring issue that Green Bay may have to deal with as the year goes on. This would be the offensive line, which could end up derailing the ceiling of this team depending on how they perform.

According to ESPN NFL analyst Mike Clay, Green Bay's offensive line is ranked No. 24 in the league coming into the season. And for a team with Super Bowl aspirations, this isn't the strongest point of confidence for such a crucial group.

According to the scale from Clay, the Packers only had one offensive lineman rated over a 5.0. The highest-rated player in the league is Denver Broncos lineman Garett Bolles.

For the Packers, right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele came in rated highest, being given a 7.9. The next highest for Green Bay was left tackle Jordan Morgan at 4.9.

Morgan is followed by left guard Aaron Banks, coming in at 4.6. Rounding out the line is center Ryan Rhyan, getting a 4.3 rating, and Anthony Belton was rated as a 3.9, the lowest of the group.

All in all, this could become a real problem for the Packers moving forward. If this unit can't play up to par to protect quarterback Jordan Love, Green Bay will be in real trouble this season.

The Packers are facing some injuries to the line entering Week 1, giving more trouble to the group. But Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is hopeful on the offensive line this season.

However, he understands that this is the situation that Green Bay finds itself in with just a few days left.

"It's hard to build continuity if you don't have five guys out there, but it is what it is," LaFleur said. "We're not the only team faced with those circumstances, and you've got to try and make the best of it."

Green Bay will open the season against the NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings, giving them a chance to make an early year statement.
