Packers' Jayden Reed Carted Off After Scary Injury Against Jets

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was carted off the field in the first quarter against the New York Jets with a scary-looking injury. Reed is out for the game with a neck injury, and a spine board was required to take him off the field.

Reed inked a three-year, $50.25 million extension with the Packers this offseason and was poised to be a key piece for their offense. He missed 10 games in the 2025 season and could now be out for much of the 2026 season.

More importantly, a neck injury is concerning, and Green Bay will be hoping Reed didn't suffer a serious injury.

He was a key piece for the Packers in his first two seasons, as he hauled in 64 receptions for 793 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023 and 55 receptions for 857 yards and six touchdowns in 2024.

With Reed out, the Packers will lean more on Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, and Tucker Kraft, as well as their depth in the receiver room with Skyy Moore, Bo Melton, and J. Michael Sturdivant.

They will need at least one of Moore, Melton, or Sturdivant to step up and play a key role for the passing attack.

Watson played at a high level in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings, catching six passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Golden led the team in targets with 12 and had six receptions for 95 yards.

The Packers' passing attack was lethal when Jordan Love had time in the pocket, but he was constantly under pressure. Green Bay could be in for a repeat performance, with star right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele going down with a knee injury in the first quarter.

The Packers entered the season as Super Bowl contenders, but they have struggled mightily, and with injuries piling up, it may not matter when superstar Micah Parsons returns to the field, because they may not be in contention.

Green Bay will hope to receive good news on Reed's neck injury after leaving the game on a cart.
