Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed has been out since Week 2.

The Green Bay Packers are putting together a great season as they are 8-3-1 and in second place in the NFC North. However, Green Bay has been unable to reach its full potential, particularly on offense, due to injuries.

Wide receiver Jayden Reed went down with a broken collarbone in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders and hasn't played since.

However, the 25-year-old wide receiver is nearing a return and could be back as soon as Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

The Packers will monitor Reed's status by the end of the week to see if he can return against Chicago. "He's got to get cleared first," head coach Matt LaFleur said.

Reed would add speed and a dynamic to the Packers' passing attack that they haven't had. In the 2024 season, Reed hauled in 55 receptions for 857 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown.

LaFleur can utilize Reed on end-arounds and in the short passing game, which will help the Packers' offense down the stretch.

Green Bay's offense has a ton of talent, but it has been inconsistent all season long. Adding one of their best weapons should help stabilize the offense.

However, the key will be LaFleur's playcalling. He has been conservative with his playcalling for most of the season, often running the ball on first and second down. He did a better job against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, putting the ball in Jordan Love's hands more often on early downs.

LaFleur was also aggressive, going for it on fourth down in key situations, and the Packers converted all three times. They will need his aggression to continue to make a deep playoff run.

Love has played efficient football for Green Bay this season, completing 67 percent of his passes for 2,794 yards, 19 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He has also rushed for 164 yards.

The 27-year-old quarterback is among the top five in the MVP conversation, and with Reed coming back, he should only get better.

The Packers have their most important game of the season on Sunday against the Bears, as the winner will be in first place in the NFC North. If Reed can return this week, it would be a major boost for Green Bay's offense.
