This isn't the news that anyone around the Packers wanted to hear.
The Green Bay Packers were able to grab their third straight win, taking down the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
The win over Dallas was a complete team effort, with all parts of the unit coming together to get the victory. Once again, the Packers offense was able to generate points, with quarterback Jordan Love throwing the ball all over the field.
Green Bay now sits with a record of 4-2 on the season, with the team trying to keep building on the wins. While the offense has started to get going, the defense has also picked things up, even with multiple injuries starting to pile up for the Packers.
However, the Packers are still missing star pass rusher Micah Parsons, who has been recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered last season. There was some speculation that Parsons could return against Dallas this past week, but the team still hasn't given him the green light.
Over the last few weeks, it has seemed as if Parsons wouldn't be returning as planned, and that his timeline could be pushed back. And now, it seems that this is the case, with Green Bay unsure of when the star defender will return to the field.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, Parsons wasn't close to playing against Dallas on Sunday night. Schefter also mentioned that the team hasn't opened up the practice window for Parsons yet, and that the team isn't sure when he will return.
This certainly isn't the news that the Packers wanted to hear about Parsons, but the group has been able to perform well without the star. Green Bay will stay patient in Parsons' recovery, now rushing the pass rusher back until he is fully ready to go.
Parsons will continue to rehab the injury, and the team will get him back in the coming weeks, which should give them a boost. Before he went down last season, Parsons helped the Packers become one of the better defenses in football.
The veteran recorded 41 total tackles, 12.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles, playing in 14 games for Green Bay. Once he went down with the injury, the Packers defense wasn't the same, leading to the team collapsing at the end of the season.
Green Bay will try to keep the winning ways going strong this coming week when they head out on the road to face the rival Detroit Lions.
