The Green Bay Packers are being predicted to land this massive player in the NFL Draft.

The Green Bay Packers have a couple of very clear needs heading into the NFL Draft, and just about everyone can immediately identify them: cornerback and edge rusher.

The problem is that the Packers do not own a first-round pick this year, so they won't be able to nab one of the very top players at either position on Day 1.

Green Bay won't be on the clock until No. 52 in the second round, but the good news is that there should still be plenty of intriguing pass rushers and corners on the board at that spot.

But is it possible that the Packers go in a different direction entirely? ESPN seems to think so.

In ESPN's most recent three-round mock draft, Green Bay is projected to select Texas Tech defensive tackle Lee Hunter with its top draft choice.

"Green Bay will have some 3-4 elements under new coordinator Jonathan Gannon; Hunter has the right skill set to anchor a run defense," wrote ESPN's Field Yates.

The Packers already have Devonte Wyatt to man defensive tackle, and they signed Javon Hargrave. But neither is really a nose tackle.

Hunter, on the other hand, fits that bill thanks to his massive 6-foot-4, 330-pound frame.

The 23-year-old spent the first three years of his collegiate career at UCF before transferring to Texas Tech in 2025.

Hunter was very productive with the Knights, especially during his second season when he racked up 69 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and three sacks.

However, Hunter didn't really put himself on the map as a top NFL prospect until he got to the Red Raiders, where he registered 41 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks this past year. Hunter also climbed draft boards thanks to his terrific showing at the Senior Bowl.

It should be noted that the Mobile, Al. lacks athleticism, which is why he is viewed as a Day 2 pick rather than a first-rounder. He has tremendous upside as a run defender, but he doesn't quite have the explosiveness some teams are seeking.

That being said, Hunter's presence in the middle would largely benefit a Packers defense that had its struggles defending the run in 2025.

Hunter could very well end up being the best run stuffer in this year's draft class, and if Green Bay is able to nab him at No. 52, it could be a massive steal.
