Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur got honest about Keisean Nixon's comments calling out the coaching staff.
Green Bay Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon sparked controversy over the weekend with comments about his role with the team.
"I guess I'm being punished right now, I guess, I don't know. I don't really worry about what I'm running in camp, the ones and twos, I just keep my process and compete," Nixon said.
Nixon wants to be the top cornerback for the Packers, but he has been battling to earn one of the starting spots against Benjamin St-Juste.
"He loves making a headline, doesn't he?" head coach Matt LaFleur said. "The way I look at it is this: I guess our whole team is being punished, because everybody is in competition."
Nixon shouldn't feel he deserves a top cornerback spot, as he hasn't played at that caliber.

If he feels a certain type of way, it is what it is, but I do think it's a benefit to the team to have people that you feel are capable to go in there to play, and we'll all be better for that. "If it's a corner, the offensive line, really every position—you better come to compete each and every day if you want to be out there."
In the 2025 season, Nixon had 72 total tackles, three tackles for loss, 17 pass deflections, an interception, and a fumble recovery. The 29-year-old has shown flashes throughout his time with Green Bay, but has not been a consistent outside cornerback.
Rookie Brandon Cisse has seemingly already passed him as the top cornerback for the Packers, as he's been running with the starting unit in practice. If Nixon wants to be a starting corner on the outside, he will have to beat out St-Juste.
St-Juste appeared in 16 games for the Los Angeles Chargers, finishing with 37 total tackles, seven pass deflections, and an interception.
Green Bay has a ton of talent on the roster heading into the 2026 season, but if Nixon isn't named a starter, it could lead to some more headlines from the Pro Bowl cornerback.
