Packers' Micah Parsons Provides Update on Realistic Return Date

Star pass rusher Micah Parsons had a phenomenal first season with the Green Bay Packers before going down with a torn ACL. 

Parsons finished the 2025 season with 41 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a pass deflection.

He was named to the All-Pro first team and finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting despite only playing in 14 games.

"People are worried about the knee," Parsons said about returning from his injury. "They should be worried about how I'm gonna play when I get back. The anger, the frustration, the things that I'm about to let out because of how long it's been since I've played. So I think that's what people should really worry about. How great is Micah gonna be when he gets back? Not about when I get back because that's the short term."

Parsons is one of the best pass rushers in the league, but it could take him time to get back to the level he played at throughout his career.

However, Green Bay likely won't have to wait long into the season to see Parsons return to action.

"I think it's very realistic," Parsons said about returning for a Week 6 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. "Me and the staff, we gotta put the work in … we gotta do our part to make it possible, but it's not off the board."

With Parsons out to start the season, he will get to sit and watch Green Bay adjust their scheme as they have a new defensive coordinator. Head coach Matt LaFleur hired Jonathan Gannon to replace Jeff Hafley, who departed for the Miami Dolphins head-coaching opening.

Early in the season, Gannon will lean on their young pass rushers Lukas Van Ness, Barryn Sorrell, Dani Dennis-Sutton, and Collin Oliver off the edge until Parsons returns. They also have talented interior pass rushers with Devonte Wyatt and Javon Hargrave.

The Packers are in their Super Bowl window, led by Parsons, and they will look to get off to a strong start before he returns to the field.
