That's how good Micah Parsons is.
Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons went from No. 3 to No. 2 on ESPN's edge rusher rankings.
This is impressive considering Parsons is recovering from an ACL tear.
"Parsons is so good on the field that he jumped a spot in the ranking despite suffering an ACL tear in December," Jeremy Fowler wrote. "The tape is that good. Parsons' metrics are the separator, providing a glimpse into how he can eventually catch Garrett in the voting. Parsons finished second in pass rush win rate (24.6%) despite facing a double-team 37.8% of the time -- nearly eight percentage points higher than the next-closest player (Myles Garrett)."
Parsons had a stellar first season with the Packers. He finished with 12.5 sacks, 19 solo tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 27 QB hits in 14 games.
One of the best players in the league, Parsons made the Pro Bowl last season despite tearing his ACL against the Denver Broncos. The Penn State product has made the Pro Bowl every season of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys and Packers.
"Elite burst and closing speed to make plays. [He] has the most rush versatility of the group. Consistently wins over centers and guards and tackles, it doesn't matter where he is," a veteran NFL defensive coach said.
Parsons also underwent a meniscus procedure. The stud defender got hurt in Week 15 on December 14, but surgery took place on December 29. A nine-month recovery timeline means we should not expect to see Parsons on the field before September 29.
Once Parsons is cleared by doctors to play next season, expect him to go nuclear on opposing QBs again.
"Just passed my fifth month on May 29, so extremely happy where we're at and the direction I'm going. Obviously, I've got four more months to go," Parsons said. "Just started running on an AlterG [treadmill] the past two weeks, so gaining my progression there."
Green Bay didn't win a game after Parsons tore his ACL in Denver. The Chicago Bears beat the Packers in the wild-card round of the 2026 playoffs.
