Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich delivered an update on the starting offensive line.
The Green Bay Packers are looking to contend for a Super Bowl in the 2026 season, but their offensive line is a question mark.
Green Bay has multiple players beat up heading into Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings, including left tackle Jordan Morgan, left guard Aaron Banks, and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele.
"Well, no, as far as like who's gonna be starting and things like that. It's still a work in progress unfortunately with the injury situations to Banks and Zach," Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich said.
That is not what you want to hear going into the opening game of a season, especially with star running back Josh Jacobs potentially out, as he's on the Commissioner's Exempt List. If Jacobs is out, the Packers will likely lean on the passing game, which makes the offensive line pivotal, as they will need to give Jordan Love time in the pocket to deliver the ball downfield.
Love is coming off a great season, as he completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions. With a more pass-heavy scheme likely coming in 2026, Love could have an MVP-caliber season if he has good protection.
USA TODAY Network via Reuters ConnectBako-Bewele was asked about his status on Wednesday and said he "definitely" expects to play and stay in for the entire game.
"When I'm out there, I do expect to perform at an elite level," Bako-Bewele said.
He has proven to be one of the best right tackles in football when on the field, but Green Bay will need him healthy to be contenders in the 2026 season.
Banks and Morgan will also play key roles as starters on the offensive line, but were both limited in practice on Wednesday. Morgan is stepping into the starting left tackle role after the Packers let Rasheed Walker leave in free agency.
The Packers have a strong roster and will be in the mix to win the Super Bowl, but if the offensive line battles injuries, it will make it tough for Green Bay to overcome opponents' elite pass rushers.
