Could the Green Bay Packers swing a trade for this player to fill a major need?

The Green Bay Packers have various needs heading into the NFL Draft, but perhaps their most prominent hole is at cornerback.

Cornerback was a major issue for the Packers in 2025, and they really haven't done anything to address it this offseason.

Yes, Green Bay signed Benjamin St-Juste, but that was really more of a depth addition than anything else, but it also cut Nate Hobbs one year after inking him to a four-year contract in free agency.

The general consensus is that the Packers will select a corner in the draft later this month, potentially as high as their top draft choice at No. 52.

But could Green Bay also pursue a trade for a proven veteran? Well, a potentially intriguing target has just emerged for the team in that regard.

Kenny Moore and the Indianapolis Colts have agreed to seek a trade, ending Moore's nine-year run with the Colts, one that included a Pro Bowl appearance.

The 30-year-old is entering the final year of his deal and carries a $13.1 million cap hit for 2026, so his contract is manageable.

The catch, though, is that Moore is primarily a nickelback, and the Packers already have Javon Bullard to fill that role.

However, Green Bay has a history of moving slot corners outside, for better or for worse.

Keisean Nixon, for example, once mainly worked in the slot before being moved to the perimeter. Hobbs was also a nickelback with the Las Vegas Raiders, but the Packers placed him outside last year.

Of course, Green Bay's decision to shift both Nixon and Hobbs was based more on necessity than anything else, so it's entirely possible that the Packers would not want to return to that well again.

Still, it might be worth placing a call to Indianapolis to see what the Colts would be seeking in return for Moore. You have to imagine it isn't much, and Green Bay may be able to nab him for a Day 3 pick.

It's also important to note that acquiring a player via trade would have no effect on Brian Gutekunst's compensatory pick strategy.

Moore played in 14 games this past season, registering 55 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception and six passes defended while posting a 62.1 coverage grade at Pro Football Focus.
