The Green Bay Packers address EDGE needs with Penn State's Dani Dennis-Sutton, a high-floor prospect bringing immediate pressure and pass-rushing prowess.

The Green Bay Packers came into the 2026 NFL Draft with several clear needs, and three picks in, they've systematically addressed those needs.

One of those needs was at EDGE, where the Packers are entering the 2026 season with Micah Parsons coming off an ACL injury (and likely out for the first few games of the season) and a whole bunch of question marks.

General Manager Brian Gutekunst addressed those question marks in Round 4 of the draft by selecting Penn State Nittany Lions EDGE Dani Dennis-Sutton with pick No. 120 overall.

This is a big-time pickup for the Packers and Gutekunst has to be thrilled that Dennis-Sutton was available in Round 4. Heck, he was a player who could have gotten some realistic looks in Round 2 when the Packers were up at No. 52.

The Packers went with South Carolina cornerback Brandon Cisse at 52, though, and they followed that up with Missouri defensive tackle Chris McClellan in Round 3 (pick No. 84).

Cornerback and defensive tackle were two massive needs for Green Bay, so to fill those two needs and then follow up with an EDGE in Round 4 is simply masterful work from Gutekunst and the drafting department.

So what does Dennis-Sutton bring to the table for the Packers?

The most important thing is that he has a very high floor as an EDGE prospect. He does what he does well, and what he does is produce.

He was a two year starter at Penn State. He led the Big Ten in pressures per game last season with 3.8. Between his junior and senior seasons, he totaled 17 total sacks and 25 tackles for loss.

Checking in at 6-foot-5, 261 pounds, he's an imposing presence on the edge of a defense.

Dennis-Sutton spent all four of his collegiate seasons at Penn State, which is a rarity in the NIL and transfer portal era. He left Happy Valley with 127 total tackles (78 solo), 34.5 tackles for loss, 23.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and eight passes defended.

He was a 5-star recruit, ranked as the No. 28 player in the nation in 2022, according to 247Sports.

Dane Brugler considered Dennis-Sutton a second rounder and at worst a third rounder. He ranked him as the No. 13 EDGE in the draft.

"Dennis-Sutton will find sack production harder to come by against NFL blocking, but he is a commanding presence and has the size, strength and quickness to be a force player on the edge," Brugler wrote in The Beast. "He will be more appealing to teams looking for a “high-floor” role player, as opposed to a “high-ceiling” pass rusher."
