Green Bay Packers star Josh Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property at a court hearing in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

According to ESPN, Green Bay Packers star RB Josh Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property at a court hearing in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Jacobs was ordered by the presiding judge to pay a $1,000 fine plus court costs on the battery charge and a deferred judgment agreement between the prosecution and Jacobs' attorneys was accepted.

A follow-up court date was set for next year.

"I fully understand the seriousness of the situation and I take full responsibility," Jacobs said.

The NFL placed Jacobs on the commissioner-exempt list after charges were filed on August 27 stemming from a May 23 incident with a woman at his home near Green Bay.

With Jacobs' plea, the NFL is likely to remove Jacobs from the exempt list and instead issue a suspension to the running back. The standard suspension for domestic violence cases, per the collective bargaining agreement, is six games.

According to the criminal complaint, there is surveillance video of the portion of the alleged incident that occurred in Jacobs' garage. The woman was trying to exit Jacobs' garage when he "grabbed her and threw her to the ground and she struck her head, suffering an injury," according to the complaint.

Jacobs' second season with the Packers wasn't as productive as his first year with the team. The three-time Pro Bowler had 929 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns last season.

Jacobs, who made the Pro Bowl in his first season with the Packers, had 1,329 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns in 2024.

Since entering the NFL in 2019, Jacobs ranks No. 2 in rushing yards (7,803), rushing TDs (74) and rushing first downs (414) and No. 3 in yards from scrimmage (9,875).

Jacobs, who came to the Packers as a free agent in 2024, is one of just four players in NFL history to post at least 7,500 rushing yards, 70 rushing TDs, 250 receptions and 2,000 receiving yards in his first seven NFL seasons, joining Hall of Famers Emmitt Smith, LaDainian Tomlinson and Barry Sanders.

Jacobs enters this season with 7,803 rushing yards and 74 rushing touchdowns with the Raiders and Packers. Green Bay opens the 2026 season against the Minnesota Vikings.
