Packers' Tucker Kraft Delivers Major Update on Return From Injury

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft was having a breakout season in 2025, establishing himself as one of the top tight ends in the league.

However, Kraft's season was cut short when he suffered a torn ACL in Week 9. In the 2024 season, Kraft was solid, hauling in 50 receptions for 707 yards and seven touchdowns. 

He was on track to surpass those numbers, as he had 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns through eight games.

Kraft became one of the Packers' top weapons in the offense, forming a dynamic connection with quarterback Jordan Love. 

Love put together the best season of his career, completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He is an efficient passer, and Green Bay's offense looked elite when Kraft was on the field.

The good news for the Packers is that Kraft revealed he anticipates playing in Week 1 without a pitch count. If Kraft is able to play in Week 1 with no restriction on snap count, it would be a huge boost for the offense.

This is a big year for the 25-year-old tight end as he is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Green Bay is expected to work on an extension with Kraft to be a long-term piece for their offense.

General manager Brian Gutekunst has been aggressive in locking up the offensive core around Love, extending wide receivers Jayden Reed and Christian Watson.

However, Gutekunst and the front office understand they can't pay everyone, especially with Love and Micah Parsons' contracts, which has led to letting some players leave.

The Packers let wide receiver Romeo Doubs leave in free agency to join the New England Patriots and traded wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Green Bay prioritized other weapons on their roster, including Kraft, Watson, Reed, and their young wideouts in Matthew Golden and Savion Williams.

The Packers offense has some quality talent, and with Kraft returning to the field soon, they have a chance to be an elite unit on the road to winning a Super Bowl in the 2026 season.
