The Green Bay Packers are being urged to sign a former Pro Bowl defender.

The Green Bay Packers' season in 2026 hasn't gone to plan just yet, with the team struggling on both sides of the ball.

Green Bay will enter Week 5 of the NFL season with a record of 2-2, but the team is lucky to not be 0-4. The Packers have had to scratch and claw their way to wins, with the group just not executing the plan.

Adding insult to injury, the Packers just lost star defender Edgerrin Cooper to a season- ending torn Achilles. Cooper was one of the main players on defense for Green Bay, making this loss a brutal one overall.

Green Bay is still waiting to get back star pass rusher Micah Parsons, but his timeline to return remains unknown. Now, the Packers will be without both Parsons and Cooper, at least for the next few weeks, making life tougher for them.

The Packers may want to bring in some extra help to bolster the defense, hoping to salvage something on that side of the ball. The clock is ticking for Green Bay to do something; otherwise, they run the risk of falling further into a hole as the year goes on.

One name that could make sense for Green Bay to consider is veteran Matt Milano, who remains unsigned. NFL analyst Nathan Yasis of WI Sports Heroics made the case for the Packers to bring in the veteran defender.

Milano has spent his entire career with the Buffalo Bills, but the team didn't bring him back this offseason. With Buffalo, Milano made one Pro Bowl appearance over his nine-year career after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Boston College.

The veteran linebacker can still give this team something, even with him getting older and showing some decline of late. Last season with the Bills, Milano posted 67 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, and one forced fumble, playing in 12 games.

If anything, Milano could offer the Packers a veteran depth piece to the defense, helping to bridge the gap due to the injuries. The veteran linebacker is still a good run defender, and he has proven to be a strong blitzer, who can get into the backfield.

This move could be a strong one, adding to the Packers' depth, and it could help them navigate the injury to Cooper. Once Parsons returns, Milano could be a way for Green Bay to help ease him back into the rotation since he's been out due to injury for so long.
