Boasting a championship pedigree from Georgia, Nazir Stackhouse must leverage his 327-pound frame to secure a roster spot amid fierce competition in the Green Bay Packers' trenches.

We're officially 49 days from the start of the 2026 NFL season for the Green Bay Packers. Whether you're ready or not, football season is here.

The Packers kick off their 2026 season against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 13, from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Talk about pressure. The Vikings are certainly in a transitional place as a franchise, but getting going against an NFC North foe ratchets up the intensity of this season from the get-go.

It's a big season for the Packers. There's a belief that they're in a Super Bowl window right now, which means every single game is important. That means the intensity will be there in Week 2 at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets and it will certainly be there in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, when the Packers will play at Lambeau Field for the first time in 2026.

There's going to be a lot of proverbial ink spilled on this 2026 season and we here at PackersRoundtable hope that you spend as much time as possible with us talking about the ins and outs and ups and downs of the Packers.

As we prepare for the 2026 season, though, we're going to kick things off with a rankings series looking at the Top 50 Packers heading into the 2025 season.

At No. 49, we have wide defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse.

The Top 50 Packers Heading Into 2026: No. 49, Nazir Stackhouse

Nazir Stackhouse has a ton of potential on the back end of the roster as a former undrafted free agent, and that potential has to do with his size. Stackhouse is a big dude at 6-foot-4, 327 pounds, and that type of beef can be very useful in the interior of a defensive line.

When the Packers are looking to stuff up the middle of the line of scrimmage or they find themselves working through a goal line stand, Stackhouse is exactly the type of player they'd want to deploy.

Stackhouse also has a strong football pedigree. He was a 4-star defensive tackle recruit and spent his whole college career with the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a part of Georgia's back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022 and started 13 of 14 games in his final collegiate season.

2025 Synopsis:

Stackhouse played in 13 games for the Packers as a rookie, notching 12 tackles (two solo) and four pressures in 159 snaps.

Notable Quotables:

"A new look on defense might benefit some guys, but others may not be in Jonathan Gannon's plans. Notably, that might be the case with Nazir Stackhouse, a former undrafted free agent who didn't make much of a splash as a rookie." -Ernesto Cova

Projected role in 2026:

Stackhouse is going to have to fight for a spot as a backup defensive lineman and there is a ton of competition ahead of him. Again, he's got the pedigree to make some noise, but can that translate to playing in the NFL full-time? If he doesn't make the 53-man roster, and he's questionable at this point, the Pack will undoubtedly try to stash him on the practice squad.
