The Green Bay Packers have released a two-time Pro Bowler.

The Green Bay Packers have released two-time Pro Bowler Elgton Jenkins from the roster. Jenkins has been with the Packers his entire career, but will now move on to his next team.

This move was expected as Jenkins carried a big cap hit, and the Packers had re-signed Sean Rhyan to be their starting center for 2026 and beyond.

Jenkins had a productive career in Green Bay, playing all across their offensive line, but having his best years at guard. In 2025, he transitioned to the center position and struggled before going down with a season-ending injury.

The Packers' offensive line in 2026 will feature 2024 first-round pick Jordan Morgan at left tackle, Aaron Banks at left guard, Rhyan at center, 2025 second-round pick Anthony Belton at right guard, and Zach Tom at right tackle.

Protecting Jordan Love is pivotal for Green Bay to have success on offense. They are rolling with continuity, going with players they already had in the building and hoping for better results in 2026.

Love is coming off the best season of his career in 2025 as he completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Love was elite when he had time to deliver in the pocket, and he was great against blitzes.

However, that puts a ton of pressure on the offensive line to execute week in and week out to get the best version out of Love. The 27-year-old quarterback was an MVP candidate until the season-ending collapse, when the team was devastated by injuries.

The Packers will look to get that version of Love back in 2026, with the offensive line playing at a high level.

Jenkins will now hit the free agency market, where he could be an impactful addition for an offensive line. He will likely be moved back to guard on his next team, as that is his best position by far.

Brian Gutekunst and Green Bay's front office have been aggressive this offseason, and with Jenkins out the door, they have created more financial flexibility for free agency.
