After losing Malik Willis to the Miami Dolphins, the Green Bay Packers were looking for a new No. 2 QB in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Green Bay Packers searched for quarterback help in the 2026 NFL Draft, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN

After losing Malik Willis to the Miami Dolphins in free agency, the Packers had their eyes on LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier, who got drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs.

"The Packers searched for quarterback help last week," Fowler wrote. "Green Bay showed interest in signing LSU's Garrett Nussmeier if he went undrafted (the Chiefs nabbed him in the seventh round).

Nussmeier finished his LSU career with 7,699 passing yards and 52 passing touchdowns in 40 games. He will be the Chiefs' No. 3 QB behind Patrick Mahomes and Justin Fields.

The Packers lost to the Chicago Bears in the wild-card round of the 2026 playoffs. Green Bay hasn't won a playoff game since 2023.

Jordan Love has turned into a solid QB under Matt LaFleur. Love finished last season with 3,381 passing yards and 23 passing touchdowns while completing 66.3% of his passes.

Love enters next season with 11,535 passing yards and 83 passing touchdowns. He's 27-20-1 as a starter.

The Packers' QB room is currently made up of Love, Desmond Ridder and Kyle McCord.

Green Bay lost Romeo Doubs to the New England Patriots in free agency and traded Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason. Without Wicks and Doubs, the Packers currently have Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden, Savion Williams, Skyy Moore, Jakobie Keeney-James, Isaiah Neyor and Will Sheppard on their roster at wideout for Love to throw to.
