Micah Parsons got his wish.
When Micah Parsons requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys, he wanted to get traded to the Green Bay Packers or Philadelphia Eagles, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
Parsons got his wish, as the Cowboys traded the superstar defender to the Packers for two first-round picks and Kenny Clark.
"As the relationship deteriorated, Parsons had two teams on his mind: the Packers and the Eagles," Russini wrote. "Green Bay appealed for its small-town feel, a reminder of his Penn State days in State College.
"Philadelphia was the other obvious fit, because it’s close to his Harrisburg home. But Dallas wasn’t about to keep him inside the NFC East, even for a better offer (the Eagles have tons of draft ammunition)."
After acquiring Parsons from the Cowboys, the Packers signed the Pro Bowler to a four-year, $188 million extension that included $120 million fully guaranteed at signing and $136 million in total guarantees.
Parsons enters the 2025 NFL season with 52.5 career sacks. The Packers now have Parsons and Rashan Gary, two of the most dominant pass rushers in the league.
Green Bay faces the Detroit Lions in Week 1. It's unknown if Parsons, who is dealing with an L4/L5 facet joint sprain in his back, will play.
The Packers are listing Parsons as questionable for the Lions game.
"I'm still ramping up," Parsons said after Thursday's practice, via ESPN. "It's a process of getting ready for football. Being out for six months, obviously, going through the tightness, the soreness, but I just got plenty of faith that this great training staff and the coaches are slowly getting me the plays and getting me things that I need if we decide to give me the green light out there.
"It's completely up to the coaches, though."
