Fresh off a prolific Week 1 performance, Green Bay Packers' Jordan Love faces a New York Jets defense that's desperate for an interception.
As crazy as it is to say, Jordan Love has yet to make a start against the New York Jets.
The fourth-year starter has indeed played against them, though it was a limited sample size back in 2023 when he replaced Aaron Rodgers.
The Jets won that game, 27-10, and Love went 2/4 for eight yards.
That game took place on October 16, 2022, in front of nearly 80,000 fans at Lambeau Field. Come Sunday, September 20, Love will be playing at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Love hasn’t played against the Jets in nearly four years
The 27-year-old has seen a wide variety of opponents in his NFL career, but the Jets are one of the teams he’s yet to make a start against.
Love was 21/42 in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings, though it wasn’t enough to guide the Green Bay Packers to victory. His 387 passing yards with a pair of touchdowns to one interception were incredible, to say the least, but it still resulted in a 39-22 loss.
Green Bay is currently riding a six-game losing streak, and that’s basically unheard of for this franchise. It certainly doesn’t fall on Love’s shoulders, far from it, but there remains a ton of pressure on him heading into this game against the Jets.
Keep in mind, the Jets just crushed the Tennessee Titans, 23-10. Second-year QB Cam Ward averaged just 4.4 yards per completion as he went 19/32 for 140 yards with a touchdown.
Obviously, the Jets' interception slump is a hot topic of discussion, and they failed to get one against Ward last week. That doesn’t mean they have a bad secondary, but Love has a tendency to force some throws when the moment doesn’t require it.
At the end of the day, there was a lot to love about Love’s Week 1 performance, pun intended. He’s continuing to come into his own in the NFL, and the start he had against the Vikings proves he truly is one of the elite quarterbacks in the entire league.
The Jets pride themselves on their defense, so it’ll be interesting to see how things unfold seven days after another second-half disaster for Matt LaFleur and Co.
New York comes into this game at 1-0 while the Packers are 0-1 and haven’t officially won a game since December 7, 2025, when they defeated the Chicago Bears 28-21.
