The Green Bay Packers are 6-3-1 after beating the New York Giants in Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season.
It wasn't a pretty win by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a 27-20 win nonetheless. Whether it comes by seven points, 17, 27 (Green Bay's magic number or just one, a win is a win in the NFL.
Throw in the fact that the Giants were playing hungry and motivated after firing head coach Brian Daboll earlier in the week and they got an energy boost from Jameis Winston at quarterback rather than rookie Jaxon Dart (who was out with a concussion) and the Packers' win looks that much more impressive -- especially on the road.
"It's never going to be pretty, man. It's the NFL," quarterback Jordan Love said after the game, according to Mike Spofford of the team website. "We stayed together and guys just found ways to keep making plays all the way to the fourth quarter. It's something that I think is going to help us, propel us into next week."
Next week is a NFC North matchup against the hated Minnesota Vikings, but let's not move on from this one just yet.
There are several important things worth discussing.
First, the Packers dropped seven balls total on offense. That's not even including the three interceptions (at least) that were dropped by the Packers' defense. Yes, Evan Williams eventually came away with the game-sealing pick, but the Packers left so much out on the field in this one.
Speaking of the field, star running back Josh Jacobs had to leave the field with a knee injury in the first half and he didn't return. Initial reports coming out of Green Bay have been positive, but you never want to see an All-Pro running back have to go to the blue medical tent -- especially with something like a knee
Lastly, the Pack at the very least got out of a two-game losing skid, but there's a vitally important stretch of games coming up, mostly against NFC North opponents.
If this was a "get right" game for the Pack, they better hope it sticks. Their next five opponents are the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears (twice) and Denver Broncos.
