The Green Bay Packers could not have had a worse game against the Denver Broncos in Week 15 action.
Not only did the Packers end up losing the game by a final score of 34-26 to drop to 9-4-1 and lose the lead in the NFC North division race, they also saw multiple players go down with injury.
Some good news has since come out about wide receiver Christian Watson's injury. However, the injury suffered by superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons will not yield good news. It has already been reported that Green Bay expects Parsons to be officially diagnosed with a torn ACL.
Assuming that diagnosis does come, Parsons will miss the rest of the 2025 NFL season. He'll also be in jeopardy if missing a good portion of the 2026 campaign as well.
While losing Parsons is a tough loss for the Packers' pass rush, the team's biggest problem will now rear its ugly head.
Quite simply, Green Bay has one of the worst cornerback rooms in the NFL.
During the offseason, the Packers moved on from Jaire Alexander. They replaced him by signing Nate Hobbs, which has been a nightmare decision. Green Bay's top cornerback this season has been Keisean Nixon, who repeatedly gets burned week in and week out by opposing receivers.
Without having an elite pass rush, which the Packers will not have without Parsons on the field, the Green Bay secondary is going to look eerily similar to swiss cheese.
Look no further than the game Bo Nix just had yesterday against the Packers' defense. He completed 23 of his 34 pass attempts for 302 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. Get used to seeing that kind of stat line from opposing quarterbacks.
Next week, Green Bay will try to contain Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. Without Parsons, the Packers are going to need a lot of luck. During the team's Week 14 game against the Bears, the only player capable of containing Parsons and getting pressure was Parsons.
Yesterday was a painful day for Green Bay. You could very well argue that the Packers' Super Bowl hopes and dreams were completely dashed. Some still hang on to hope, but the secondary will soon frustrate each and every last fan out there.
Hopefully, Parsons is able to make a full recovery and get back to being his dominant self. Brian Gutekunst also needs to take the cornerback room seriously in the offseason and add help.
