Micah Parsons' devastating ACL tear casts a shadow on this 2025 season for the Green Bay Packers. Can Jordan Love and the Packers' offense rise to defy the looming and likely defensive collapse?

Is it over? It certainly feels like it's over. Football is known as the ultimate team sport, but it really feels like the Green Bay Packers' 2025 season is over with the news that star pass-rusher Micah Parsons has torn his ACL.

It's what it looked like in the moment it happened, and on Monday, it was confirmed. Parsons is going to miss at least the next nine months. What that means is that in the best case scenario, he'll be back sometime in the beginning of the 2026 season.

That's best case scenario, though, and everyone responds different when it comes to coming back from an ACL injury.

That's the goal for Parsons, though, and it is something for Packers fans to look forward to. At least there's that.

Everything feels lost after Week 15's 34-26 loss to the Denver Broncos, but that perception really isn't true.

There are still three games left in this 2025 season, and the Packers still have a chance to win the NFC North. Heck, they played arguably one of the top teams in the NFL extremely tough on the road. There's no reason to hang their heads after that loss to the Broncos.

That's how big the loss of Parsons feels, though. He's been the straw that stirs the drink in Green Bay. He's been the very heartbeat of the defense and every single player on that unit was better because he was out there on the field.

Without Parsons, there's a fear that Green Bay's defense will go to borderline elite to borderline bad.

There is still another side of the ball, though, and despite what ended up being a bad game against the Broncos, Jordan Love and his unit can still be extremely explosive.

They still have Josh Jacobs, one of the best running backs in the NFL. They still have Christian Watson, who seemingly went down for good against Denver but it turns out that he's going to be A-OK.

So perhaps not all is lost, but it still feels rather scary right now for the Packers, especially with an NFC-North defining game against the Chicago Bears up next.

Does this team have what it takes to bounce back off the matt after being knocked down?
