The biggest question surrounding the Carolina Panthers in training camp revolves around a rookie.
The Carolina Panthers were one of the first teams to open up training camp, doing so last week due to playing in the Hall of Fame game. The extra week gives Dave Canales and his staff more time to check out the roster and evaluate things.
While the Panthers continue on with training camp, some big storylines are starting to emerge.
Before Carolina reported, they announced that they were placing Taylor Moton on the non-football injury list as he's dealing with blood clots. Moton will miss the start of the regular season, leaving a big hole at right tackle.
The Panthers did address the offensive line by signing Rasheed Walker and then drafting Monroe Freeling out of Georgia in the first round. With the injury to Moton, it now opens up an opportunity for Freeling to start right away.
As training camp rolls on, CBS Sports released the biggest questions for each NFC team going into camp. For the Panthers, Freeling is the biggest question in terms of how he can acclimate to the right tackle position.
Here is what they wrote on the situation:
However, 19th overall pick offensive tackle Monroe Freeling will be making a notable adjustment because of the injuries to Moton and Ekwonu. Despite all 18 of his starts at Georgia coming at left tackle, Panthers general manager Dan Morgan told reporters Freeling will be moved to right tackle in place of Moton to start the 2026 season. How quickly Freeling can acclimate to the opposite side of the offensive line will be something worth keeping tabs on in Charlotte.
Carolina is dealing with serious injuries to both starting tackles going into camp. But if Walker can live up to the hype and Freeling take a step forward, things could look better as the season approaches.
There's a chance that Freeling could be a steal in this draft and earn his spot right away.
