Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has struggled with consistency in his career.

The Carolina Panthers have shown flashes this season and are in the playoff hunt at 6-6. Carolina is just a half-game behind the 6-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers for first place in the NFC South.

Quarterback Bryce Young has embodied the Panthers' inconsistency this season. Young has completed 62.7 percent of his passes for 2,131 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He has also rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown.

The 24-year-old quarterback looked to have a breakout performance in Week 11 in Carolina's overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons. In that game, Young completed 31 of 45 passes for 448 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.

However, Young was unable to follow it up against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12, completing 18 of 29 passes for 169 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

While he has improved this season, Young has still been an inconsistent player. This has raised questions about Young's future as the Panthers' quarterback.

The Panthers took Young with the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He had a successful career at Alabama, but has yet to find consistency in the NFL.

Carolina has a talented defense and some weapons on offense, as rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is playing at an elite level.

McMillan was taken by the Panthers with the 8th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and he has proven that he can be the wide receiver one of the future. The 22-year-old has hauled in 56 receptions for 783 yards and five touchdowns.

Running back Rico Dowdle has also had a breakout season, rushing for 871 yards and five touchdowns. He has also hauled in 27 receptions for 233 yards and a touchdown.

With some quality weapons and a talented defense behind him, the Panthers need Young to play better down the stretch.

Carolina will have a tough challenge to bounce back in Week 13, as they take on the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams have been one of the best teams in the league, and if the Panthers are going to win, they will need Young to play as he did against the Falcons.
