The Carolina Panthers were one of the most pleasant surprises in football this year, winning the NFC South division title and actually pushing the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
But just because the Panthers made the postseason does not mean they don't still have a lot to improve upon heading into the offseason.
Carolina has some glaring needs up and down the roster, with many of them coming on the defensive side of the ball. Most notably, the Panthers need help with their pass rush after totaling just 30 sacks in 2025.
The pass rush was an issue for Carolina last year, too, and while the team took some measures to address it last spring, it showed no signs of improvement.
Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine has identified a potential solution for the Panthers in that department, linking them to a trade for Seattle Seahawks edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu.

Nwosu registered 35 tackles and 15 quarterback hits to go along with his sack total in 2025. He also managed 32 hurries and 46 total pressures.
The 29-year-old was originally selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent the first four years of his career with the Chargers and got better as time went on, but he didn't truly break out until he arrived in Seattle back in 2022.
During his debut campaign with the Seahawks, Nwosu racked up 66 tackles, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and 26 quarterback hits. Injuries then derailed his 2023 and 2024 seasons, limiting him to 12 games combined, but he has bounced back nicely in 2025.
Nwosu has one year remaining on his contract and carries a $20.8 million cap hit for 2026. The Panthers currently only have $14.4 million in cap room, but they should be able to free up a decent amount of extra money in the coming months.
You would also imagine that Nwosu — who played in 56 percent of Seattle's defensive snaps this season — would not be overly expensive in a trade.
