Carolina Panthers Could Land 21-Touchdown Weapon for Bryce Young cover image

The Carolina Panthers could add this impressive weapon for quarterback Bryce Young.

While Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker certainly comprise one heck of a wide receiver duo for the Carolina Panthers, it seems rather clear that quarterback Bryce Young needs some more help.

Xavier Legette has been a major disappointment since being taken in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and Jimmy Horn Jr. barely played this season.

The good news is that the Panthers have a decent chunk of cap room to spend in free agency, and you can't help but examine Romeo Doubs as a potential option.

Doubs has spent the first four years of his career with the Green Bay Packers, and while he is certainly not an elite receiver, he's still a pretty good one.

The 25-year-old hauled in 55 receptions for 724 yards and six touchdowns in 2025, averaging a respectable 13.2 yards per catch.

While Doubs has never come close to registering 1,000 yards, he has registered over 600 yards in each of the past three years, and it's important to remember that he has been playing in a very deep Packers wide receiver room that also includes Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks and, this year, Matthew Golden.

Doubs has also had a solid knack for finding the end zone, having accumulated 21 scores thus far in his professional career.

The University of Nevada product could represent nearly everything Legette was supposed to be in Carolina, and he would definitely comprise a rather interesting fit alongside of McMillan and Coker.

To be quite frank, the Panthers might be better served moving Coker outside permanently and finding a true slot receiver (like Wan'Dale Robinson, for example), but it's hard to ignore Doubs' talent.

Plus, Doubs will almost certainly come cheaper than Robinson on the open market given that Robinson just posted a 1,000-yard campaign himself.

Spotrac is projecting Doubs to land a four-year, $48 million contract, but it's entirely possible he ends up receiving less than that considering he has never even reached 800 yards once in his career.

Carolina may decide to look to the NFL Draft for an answer at wide receiver and spend its money elsewhere in free agency, but do not be surprised if the Panthers take a strong look at Doubs this March.
