The Carolina Panthers have been connected to a rather intriguing trade before the NFL Draft.
The Carolina Panthers have made a strong attempt to bolster their defense this offseason, signing edge rusher Jaelan Phillips and linebacker Devin Lloyd in free agency.
However, the Panthers could still afford to improve their secondary, and Bleacher Report's Alex Kay has pitched an intriguing potential trade target for the squad: Indianapolis Colts defensive back Kenny Moore II.
"The Carolina Panthers would benefit from adding a defensive leader like Moore to the mix. Carolina is attempting to build on a surprise NFC South championship and desires to put what became a lengthy rebuilding process in the rearview, an endeavor that a low-cost veteran pickup can greatly assist with," Kay wrote.
Moore and the Colts have mutually agreed to seek a trade, as the former Pro Bowler is entering the final year of his contract.
Given his contract status and the fact that he is 30 years old, the cost should not be too extravagant for the Panthers, either.

Moore played in 14 games this past season, registering 55 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception and six passes defended.
The Valdosta State product began his NFL career with Indianapolis back in 2017 as an undrafted free agent and immediately established himself as a critical part of the Colts' secondary.
Moore made his lone Pro Bowl appearance in 2021 after racking up 102 tackles, a sack, four picks and 13 passes defended.
The Georgia native has been a nickelback throughout his career due to his lack of size, but he has obviously fared very well in that role.
Carolina has a solid pair of cornerbacks in Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson, but adding Moore for some help in the slot would largely benefit the secondary.
Moore may no longer be the same player he was several years ago, but he is still productive, and for the cost of a Day 3 pick, it might be worth a shot for the Panthers.
