The Carolina Panthers have been connected to a potential big move to bolster their defense.

The Carolina Panthers have made a couple of key additions to their defense this offseason, signing edge rusher Jaelan Phillips as well as linebacker Devin Lloyd.

But it's pretty clear that the Panthers still need some help on that side of the ball.

Chances are, Carolina will address any further needs in the NFL Draft, particularly considering that the Panthers have just $2.2 million in cap room to work with at the moment.

However, Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport still thinks Carolina could make another impactful signing, linking the Panthers to edge rusher Haason Reddick.

"It has been a while since Haason Reddick was a force off the edge—his last 10-sack season came with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023," Davenport wrote. "However, the 31-year-old had four such seasons in a row with three teams from 2020-2023, including 68 stops and 11 sacks in his lone season with the Panthers in 2021."

As Davenport noted, this would represent Reddick's second stop in Carolina, as he signed with the Panthers on a one-year deal back in 2021 before joining the Eagles.

Reddick made back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances in Philadelphia in 2022 and 2023, racking up 49 tackles, 16 sacks, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries during the former campaign.

The veteran does not appear to be the same player at this point. He logged just 31 tackles and 2.5 sacks with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, and the year prior, he finished with a meager 14 tackles and a sack in 10 games with the New York Jets.

However, Carolina could use some more depth on the edge, and Reddick could be a terrific addition in a specialist role.

Yes, the Panthers signed Phillips, but let's remember that they totaled just 30 sacks as a team in 2025, and it's lot like Phillips was a sack master last season, recording five sacks in 17 games between the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia.

Beyond Phillips, Carolina has Nic Scourton and Princely Umanmielen, a pair of draft picks from last year. Scourton had a decent rookie campaign, but Umanmielen produced very little.

The Panthers could always try and add another edge rusher in what is supposed to be a deep draft class at the position, but bringing in another veteran couldn't hurt.
