The Carolina Panthers could definitely stand to add some more depth at wide receiver, thanks mostly in part to Xavier Legette trending toward bust territory.
Yes, the Panthers appear to have a stud in Tetairoa McMillan, and Jalen Coker is looking more and more like an undrafted steal. But beyond those two, Bryce Young needs some assistance.
Carolina could look to add a wide receiver in free agency, but whether or not any of the top-tier pass-catchers would actually want to join the Panthers is questionable. And while Carolina could select a receiver in the NFL Draft, the Panthers also have a plethora of other needs they must address.
Jarrett Bailey of Behind the Steel Curtain has proposed a trade in which Carolina would acquire wide out Roman Wilson from the Pittsburgh Steelers, sending a 2027 sixth-round pick to the Steelers in exchange for him.
"Both sides just need a fresh start. Wilson has never been given a real chance with Pittsburgh, and the Steelers need proven talent at the position over hopeful projects," Bailey wrote. "The Panthers lack depth at receiver, so giving up a Day Three Pick in the 2027 draft is a fair price to pay to see if Wilson can be a contributor."

Injuries completely derailed his rookie campaign, and this past season, he logged just 12 catches for 166 yards and a couple of touchdowns.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a productive career at Michigan, with his best year coming during his final campaign with the Wolverines when he hauled in 48 receptions for 789 yards and 12 scores.
Wilson has yet to display any of that ability on the professional level thus far, so perhaps a change of scenery would do him some good.
That being said, it's hard to envision Wilson representing the Panthers' solution at wide receiver, and while he is intriguing given how well he played in college, I'm not even sure Carolina would surrender a Day 3 pick for him at this point.
The Panthers would probably be better off just using a Day 3 pick on a wide receiver in what is a rather deep draft class at the position.
