Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young had a pretty big day at Wednesday's training camp per multiple reports.
The Carolina Panthers have been at training camp for a week now as they prepare for the extra preseason game. As Carolina has had a little extra time, they are getting the chance to evaluate the roster.
So far, reports suggest that it's been a back-and-forth training camp between the offense and the defense. Each have won some days already, balancing out one another.
But on Wednesday, it sounded like quarterback Bryce Young was the standout of the day.
Young was crisp throughout the day, turning in one of his best performances from camp so far in 2026. After practice, his head coach talked about what he's seen so far from the quarterback in what is a very important year ahead.
Here is what head coach Dave Canales had to say about Young's day:
"Bryce is continuing to take the next steps," Canales stated. "What I see from Bryce, right now, is ownership and mastery of the concepts. And now, I just see the timing, the rhythm and just the me-to-you factor with his guys.
"Watching him throw anticipatory balls to T-Mac [Tetairoa McMillan], to Jalen [Coker], to David Moore . . . so, I just see his level of comfort really showing up with the guys."
Reporter Scott Fowler called it the best day he's seen from Young at a practice:
With exactly zero fans in attendance and not nearly the same level of pressure as a real game, that was Young in Carolina’s training camp Wednesday. It was the best practice I’ve ever seen him have. It was impossible to look away as No. 9 made one dazzling throw after another, firing the ball into windows the size of portholes.
Young threw one 30-yard deep ball to Xavier Legette in the back left corner of the end zone that couldn’t have been placed any better if he had walked the 30 yards and handed it to Legette (who made a great catch with safety Nick Scott draped all over him).
As Young enters year four, he's playing for a big contract. The Panthers already picked up the fifth-year option on the talented quarterback. But he needs to show more in terms of them signing him to a long-term deal.
Carolina is off on Thursday but returns to practice on Friday.
