Bryce Young hasn't played well this season.
One NFL analyst thinks Panthers QB Bryce Young is the second-worst starting QB in the league.
NFL analyst Nick Shook of NFL.com ranked Young 31/32 in his latest QB ranking.
"Bryce Young is struggling mightily to find a rhythm right now," Shook wrote. "He threw an ugly interception that was wiped out by a penalty in the first quarter against the Saints, but it seemed as if that mistake stuck with him for the rest of another disappointing day. The Panthers' passing game is stuck in a deep rut and Young hasn't proven he can lift them out of it."
On the season, Young has 1,514 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions. He's completing 61.7% of his passes and has failed to eclipse 150 passing yards five times in his last 10 games.
Young is 11-26 as a starter in the NFL. Don't be surprised if the Panthers attempt to part ways with the Alabama product this offseason.
There are plenty of stats and film on the table that show Young is a below-average quarterback.
The 24-year-old Young has 6,794 passing yards, 37 passing touchdowns and 26 interceptions in the NFL. A team can't win with that type of production consistently in the NFL.
Young had won his last four starts coming into the Week 10 Saints game. He was finally living up to the hype of a No. 1 overall pick.
However, the Saints game proved that Young doesn't have what it takes to be a true franchise quarterback who can lead a team to the playoffs.
The Panthers lost to the Saints in Week 10 by a final score of 17-7, despite being heavy favorites. Young finished with 125 passing yards and one interception against New Orleans and NFL writer Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report strongly believes that Young "isn't the long-term answer under center in Carolina."
"At 5-4 entering Week 10, the Panthers were one of the NFL's more surprising teams this year," Sobleski wrote. "However, after watching their offense sputter most of the afternoon in a loss to the hapless Saints, something has become evident: The Panthers were winning in spite of Bryce Young, not because of him. He isn't the long-term answer under center in Carolina."
