Could a fan-favorite Carolina Panthers player be on the roster bubble and be cut? One NFL insider believes it's possible.

The Carolina Panthers are entering their second preseason game of the year on Saturday against the Buffalo Bills. After beating the Arizona Cardinals in the Hall of Fame Fame last Thursday, this is another chance for some players to catch the eyes of the coaching staff.

For Dave Canales and his staff, they have some tough roster decisions to make this year as they cut it down to 53. Having that extra preseason game will help allow them to evaluate the players even more.

One player who is in a roster battle is former sixth-round pick Jimmy Horn Jr.

The wide receiver won a spot last offseason but was hardly active on game days. Now, going into this season, he's battling for another spot on the roster and hoping to make an impact.

Horn was good in the first preseason game, catching four of his seven targets and leading the Panthers in receiving yards with 44 yards.  The injury to rookie Chris Brazzell did open up a spot and Horn has impressed early on as Canales pointed out.

But one NFL writer belives he's still on the roster bubble and is a top cut candidate.

Here is what Moe Moton of Bleacher Report wrote on Horn, calling him a cut candidate for this season:

Tetairoa McMillan, Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette are the top three receivers. Brycen Tremayne is a key special teamer. If the Panthers keep John Metchie III, it could cost Jimmy Horn Jr. a roster spot... Listed at 5'8", 174 pounds... Horn doesn't have the size to move outside, but Metchie can also make plays on the perimeter. Still only 26, Metchie has some upside and started to show his potential in the second half of the previous season with the New York Jets. He could surpass Horn for the backup slot receiver position, which is notable given Coker's recent injury history.

Horn will need to impress once again in preseason. He's doing the right things in practices, but the game reps are unmatched. That's the time when a player like Horn can really make an impact and catch the eyes of the coaching staff.
