    He's playing really well.

The Carolina Panthers have started the 2025 NFL season 1-2. All signs point toward the franchise missing the playoffs again.

However, there has been one bright spot and it's been the play of cornerback Michael Jackson, per Bleacher Report

"Jaycee Horn naturally gets more of the attention in the Carolina secondary, but it's Jackson who has exploded in his second season with the team. The 28-year-old essentially buried the Falcons with a nice pick and return Sunday, and he's surrendered a passer rating of just 40.7 on throws into his coverage. Jackson is a big reason why the Panthers pass defense has the lowest opposing passer rating in football thus far."

Jackson has one interception, 10 solo tackles one tackle for loss for the Panthers this season. He's in his second year with Carolina after playing for the Detroit Lions, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

The 28-year-old Jackson entered the NFL in 2019. He enters Week 4 with four career interceptions.

"I feel like a lot has changed; It just showed me to just always believe in me," Jackson said back in August. "Like when I got traded here, I knew I was just coming in as a filler guy because the starter got hurt. But for my thing, it was like you handed me the playbook and said, 'Be ready with ones' like I'm starting.

"So my whole goal was to go start the whole year, and for now it's like, yeah, I got the contract, but to be honest, that really doesn't mean anything because it's all about what I did today."

The Panthers face the Patriots in Week 4. It will be a revenge game for Jackson, who played for New England in 2020.

Carolina is giving up 17.7 points per game through three weeks, good for eighth in the NFL. Let's see if Jackson and Co. can continue to be a strong defense moving forward.
