This is a great honor for Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young.
Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young is ranked on Bleacher Report's list of the NFL's top 10 most clutch quarterbacks.
Young was ranked No. 10.
"This may seem odd considering his broad struggles three years in, but Young has actually led an NFL-high 12 game-winning drives since coming into the league in 2023," Bleacher Report wrote. "Part of that comes from the fact that the Panthers rarely blow teams out, but his 99.8 third-down passer rating in the second half of one-score games since 2024 indicates a significant clutch factor with the 25-year-old. Imagine where he could go with more support in key moments in the future."
Young finished the 2025 season with 3,011 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 216 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He led the Panthers to the playoffs for the first time since the 2017 campaign.
The first overall pick in the 2023 draft, Young enters this season with 8,291 passing yards, 49 passing touchdowns, 30 interceptions, 718 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns in a Carolina uniform. He's 14-30-0 as a starter.
Panthers OC Brad Idzik is a huge Young fan. There isn't another QB Idzik wants with the ball in his hands when the game is on the line.
"Just an ultimate competitor and distributor, and he's ice cold in the big moment," Idzik said about Young, via Panthers.com. "The competitor, for him, looks different. But every single person in that team meeting room knows, this guy, he's going to give you everything he's got. He's going to extend every play to the very last second. Go back to Miami last year, down 17, fourth down, and he's buying one extra tick with three guys barreling down on him just to be able to get that ball off to (Tetaroia McMillan) and keep us alive and eventually win the game. And then the clutch moments for him, where he doesn't bat an eye, that's just something he's always had. It goes back to Alabama, goes back to Mater Dei; he's a winner, and we've enjoyed watching all those fourth-quarter last-minute drives, giving us a chance in games.
"He doesn't blink. It doesn't matter what the situation is; you're getting the same guy, and that galvanizes the guys around him. What you want at the quarterback position is someone who elevates his team. They all see the look in his eye when it's fourth-and-long or when we've got to go down and score to win this game. That just heightens the bar for everybody, and everyone wants to rise to that level. So that's a special player."
Young is set to make $12.1 million this season in the fourth year of his rookie deal. His fifth-year option is worth a guaranteed $25.9 million.
The Panthers will not sign Young to an extension before the 2026 season. The QB has to play well again this season to get paid next offseason.
Carolina hosts the Chicago Bears to open the 2026 season. Young vs. Caleb Williams should be a fun game.
