The latest news regarding the Carolina Panthers' NFL Draft strategy will certainly have an effect on quarterback Bryce Young.
The Carolina Panthers were one of the league's most pleasant surprises in 2025, winning the NFC South division title and nearly defeating the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
But in spite of the Panthers' surge this past season, the fact remains that they went just 8-9, and they have plenty of holes remaining on their roster.
Many are expecting Carolina to further address its defense in the first round of the NFL Draft later this month, especially after the Panthers logged just 30 sacks this past year.
However, it's possible that Carolina goes in a different direction and actually tries to beef up the offense to help Bryce Young.
ESPN's Jordan Reid has reported that the Panthers may look to select yet another weapon in the first round of the draft on April 23.
"Adding another playmaker for Young is viewed as essential when speaking to sources close to the Panthers," Reid wrote. "It is certainly possible that they draft a receiver in Round 1 for a third consecutive year. Another position to watch is tight end. The team is reportedly high on Oscar Delp (Georgia), who could be an option as early as the second round."

While McMillan is already developing into a star, Legette is trending toward bust territory, which has left the Panthers in need at the wide receiver position.
Yes, Jalen Coker has been impressive in the slot, but Carolina may prefer to move the 6-foot-3 playmaker outside permanently. Or, at the very least, the Panthers may want to add another receiver alongside of the McMillan-Coker duo.
The good news is this is a very deep wide receiver class, so Carolina should absolutely be able to find a weapon somewhere. One potential target could be USC's Makai Lemon, who could slide right into the slot and allow Coker to play on the outside.
It's also possible that the Panthers take a receiver a bit later on given the amount of talent there is at the position. Carolina could potentially land a game-changer on Day 2 or possibly even Day 3, so the Panthers may aim to address other needs first and circle back around to a receiver in later rounds.
One thing is clear, though: it seems that Carolina is doing everything it can to ensure Young has the easiest path possible heading into 2026.
