After an impressive 2025 NFL season, the Carolina Panthers and general manager Dan Morgan will have an important offseason to reload the current roster.
On the defensive side of the ball, there are multiple positions that the Panthers must address, including an additional pass rusher. However, the offense could use some reinforcements to help out quarterback Bryce Young as he enters his fourth season with the organization.
2025 first-round pick Tetairoa McMillan exceeded expectations in his first season, as the young wide receiver was recently named a finalist for the 2025 AP Rookie of the Year Award.
Along with McMillan, former 2024 UDFA wide receiver Jalen Coker continues to be an impact player in the passing game, finishing his 2026 campaign with 528 yards and four touchdowns in 2025.
Unfortunately for Carolina, the tight end position still lacks the necessary players to take the offense to the next level. 2024 fourth-round pick Ja’Tavion Sanders has yet to take the next step in his career.
Luckily, the Panthers could make a key signing this offseason to fill the role.
Philadelphia Eagles’ star veteran, Dallas Goedert, is set to become a free agent, which would make for an ideal player with plenty of experience.

Goedert, a former second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, has been a key piece to the Eagles’ offensive success over the past two seasons. While playing under legendary tight end Zach Ertz at the beginning of his career, the 31-year-old was able to learn from the talented weapon and develop into the player he is today.
Once he took over the reins in 2021, Goedert dominated in his starting role with quarterback Jalen Hurts, racking up 56 receptions for a career-high 830 receiving yards.
From there, he became a consistent staple of the offense, finishing with a career-high 11 touchdowns in 2025.
Depending on how the Panthers navigate free agency this offseason, Goedert could be the perfect security blanket and veteran pass catcher for Young in 2026. Carolina could also use their first-round pick on Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq, but this would ultimately be a draft-day decision due to the need for an EDGE rusher.
According to Spotrac, Goedert's estimated value is roughly $6 million heading into the offseason, which is perfect for the Panthers' young offense.
