The Carolina Panthers struggled in their Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
The Carolina Panthers fell to the Cleveland Browns on the road 21-18 in Week 3. It was a rough loss for the Panthers, who looked completely out of rhythm just one week after a dominant win over the Atlanta Falcons.
Quarterback Bryce Young started off the season strong in the first two weeks, completing 63 percent of his passes for 648 yards, six touchdowns, and an interception while rushing for 16 yards and a touchdown.
The Panthers were expecting the same level of performance in Week 3, but he struggled, completing 26 of 48 passes for 291 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
Young was without some key weapons as Jalen Coker exited with a quad injury. He had two catches for 18 yards before leaving. Carolina was also without Xavier Legette, which made it tougher for Young to connect with his receivers.
Young was also unable to find reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan as he was held to two receptions for 17 yards.

On the ground, the Panthers did not find the end zone, rushing for 98 yards on 23 carries. Defensively, there were some positives for Carolina, as Princely Umanmielen and Trevis Gipson each had a sack.
Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson didn't turn it over, but he didn't take over the game in the air, completing 16 of 30 passes for 144 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
Cleveland was strong running the ball, as Watson had 45 yards on 11 attempts while Quinshon Judkins had 70 yards on 18 carries. It was a rough game all-around for the Panthers, and they have plenty to work on moving forward.
Panthers Week 4 Preview
Carolina will host the Detroit Lions in their Week 4 matchup. This will be a tough game for the Panthers, as the Lions have one of the league's most explosive offenses.
Carolina's defense gave up 59 points in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, but has improved over the last two weeks. They will need a strong performance to limit the Lions' offense from taking over.
However, the Panthers' offense will need to be prepared for a shootout and will need a bounce-back from Young, the offensive line, and the receivers.
