The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl on Sunday against the New England Patriots in San Francisco.
Seahawks players Ernest Jones IV and Nick Emmanwori are now NFL champions and they believe Carolina Panthers star Jaycee Horn helped them reach the promised land.
"It's almost like a brother relationship," Emmanwori said about Horn. "I'm always taking from his game even if he may not know it or not."
"Jaycee's been the best corner in football, in my opinion, since he got there," Jones said about Horn. "Injuries have derailed him, but when Jaycee is healthy, he's a bad man. I've seen it in college. I've seen it, I've seen for months, people just don't catch the ball.
"So to see him having his success, man, I mean, it means a lot for you to see those guys you went to war with, you got a good relationship with, to just be doing good."
Horn made his second consecutive Pro Bowl this season. He finished with five interceptions and eight passes defended for the Panthers, who won the NFC South and made the playoffs for the first time since the 2017 campaign.
"Wherever (Jaycee's) at, I try to hit him up and get with him and pick his brain," admitted Emmanwori. "He got that dog mentality. When I finally met him in person, just as you see him on TV, it's just how he is in person. He's a dog competitor. He's a special player, one-on-one. So I'm glad I got that relationship with him."
Horn has 10 interceptions in 53 games for the Panthers. He's undoubtedly one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL and Carolina is fortunate to have him.
The Panthers lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round of the 2026 NFL playoffs. With Horn leading the defense, Carolina was 15th in the NFL this season in points per game allowed.
It will be fascinating to see how Horn and the Panthers perform next season in Year 3 of the Dave Canales era.
