Fresh off a playoff run, Carolina must decide if rising stars like Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker will leave former first-round pick Xavier Legette behind in 2026.

The Carolina Panthers and head coach Dave Canales will look to continue their recent success heading into 2026 after reaching the playoffs last season.

One of the key position groups for the Panthers’ offense this year will be the team’s wide receiver corps, which features a combination of veterans and newcomers. But with the 53-man roster being a prominent conversation surrounding the team before training camp, it’s time to examine which players could be on the roster for the 2026 season.

Here are the roster predictions for Carolina’s wide receiver corps before the start of training camp.

Featured stories

After winning the 2025 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award, it’s clear that former 2025 first-round pick Tetairoa McMillan is set to become a star in the NFL for years to come.

However, the biggest storyline for the Panthers’ wide receiving corps was the progression of 2024 UDFA Jalen Coker this offseason, as the 24-year-old pass catcher and the organization agreed to a three-year, $35 million extension earlier this offseason. The fan-favorite is set to become a key piece of the offense in 2026, and with the front office selecting Tennessee’s Chris Brazzell II in the third round of the recent draft, look for these three to become the top weapons for quarterback Bryce Young in 2026.

Xavier Legette, David Moore, Jimmy Horn Jr., Brycen Tremayne

While I do not believe that the Panthers will move off of former 2024 first-round pick Xavier Legette this offseason, the rising third-year pass catcher is slipping down the depth chart entering next season. Depending on how well Brazzell performs as a rookie will determine Legette’s future with the organization.

Outside of Legette, the two most-likely candidates to make the roster this offseason are David Moore and Jimmy Horn Jr. Moore continues to be well-liked amongst the Panthers’ coaching staff, and Horn’s potential as an electric playmaker on both offense and special teams could give him one more season to prove himself.

Cut Candidates

John Metchie III, Dan Chisena

Despite carving out a role for himself in a horrific New York Jets’ offense during the 2025 season, veteran John Metchie III may be the odd man out of a loaded wide receiver group for Carolina.

While Metchie was a former teammate of Young with the Alabama Crimson Tide, it’s hard to imagine the front office keeping him on the roster ahead of Legette, Moore, and Horn, who all have prior experience under Canales.
