A.J. Brown could make his return to the field this week for the New England Patriots.

The New England Patriots are entering Week 6 of the NFL season ready to prove themselves yet again.

After a slow start to the year, New England has now won two straight games, with the team looking very convincing in the process. The Patriots' offense has come alive when they needed it most, with quarterback Drake Maye looking like his normal self.

New England looked dead in the water a few weeks ago, but the team rallied together to pull out some big victories. Now, the Patriots will be hosting the rival New York Jets this week, with the team looking to grab another win.

But the Patriots may be getting back a big piece to their offense this week, with the organization opening the practice window for star wide receiver A.J. Brown. Brown suffered an injury during Week 1 of the season, and he's been on injured reserve ever since.

Brown could make his return this week, but his status remains very much up in the air right now. New England doesn't want to rush him back, allowing the veteran ample time to fully heal before he gets back on the field.

When addressing the media on Thursday, Brown provided a big update on his status for the upcoming game with the Jets. The star wide receiver said that he feels good considering the injury that he suffered.

But Brown wasn't sure if he would be able to suit up against New York this weekend as he tries to increase his workload. The veteran wants to see how his body responds every day leading into the game, getting work in on the field and on the side.

When the Patriots traded for Brown over the offseason, the wideout was expected to help this offense take off even more. New England has missed him out on the field, but his return could unlock even more for this group.

Brown is a star wide receiver in the NFL, and he could easily help Maye continue to break out of his funk. The veteran may take some extra time to heal properly, but the Patriots should get him back soon, if he can't return against the Jets.

After the game with New York, the Patriots will be taking on the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football. New England could elect to hold him out for the next week to then have him ready to go against Chicago, but for now, it remains to be seen when the star will play.
