An NFL trade idea sending a five-time Pro Bowler to the New England Patriots has been created.
The New England Patriots lost to the Seattle Seahawks in Year 1 of the Mike Vrabel era. As a result, the Patriots have work to do this offseason in terms of improving the roster.
One of the top players in the NFL could be traded this offseason and Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report believes the Patriots should trade for him.
Davenport proposed that New England trade for Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby:

The Raiders are expected to trade Crosby this offseason. The five-time Pro Bowler is tired of losing, and even though Crosby has met with new Las Vegas head coach Klint Kubiak, the prevailing thought in league circles is that Crosby will be on a new team in 2026.
"However, there has been speculation that Crosby isn't interested in another rebuild, and it's possible that he makes things uncomfortable enough in Vegas that the Raiders decide to get the best deal they can and shave another $35 million-plus off the cap," Davenport wrote.
"The Raiders aren't getting a Micah Parsons package for Crosby—the former is both younger and more prolific rushing the passer. But a first, a Day 2 pick in 2027 and a proven pass-rusher on a much lower contract isn't a bad haul, and the reigning AFC champs may be willing to push their chips into the center of the table in 2026.
Crosby would take the Patriots' defense to another level. The talented defender is arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL. He has 10 sacks in 2025 for the Raiders despite playing on a torn meniscus.
The 28-year-old Crosby has been in the NFL since 2019. He has 69.5 sacks, 278 solo tackles, 133 tackles for loss and 164 QB hits in 110 games.
New England racked up 35 sacks in 2025. That was good for only 25th in the NFL. Vrabel needs an elite pass rusher to lead his defense and Crosby fits that bill to a T.
