Drake Maye Earns "A+ in QB Report Card for Patriots Win Over Raiders

The rumors of Drake Maye's downfall may have come a little too early.

For the second straight week, there was a resurgence from Maye, helping the Patriots get back on track this season. Maye is easily the biggest X-Factor for New England each week, and his performance was special to see play out.

The New England Patriots were able to take down the Las Vegas Raiders this weekend, moving to 3-2 on the season. New England dominated the Raiders from the opening kickoff, with Maye showing why he was the runner-up to the MVP award last year.

Overall, Maye threw for 374 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for 25 yards on seven carries, with one score. Maye was in complete command of the offense against Las Vegas, making the 3-1 Raiders look poor in the process.

The turnaround from Maye over the last few weeks has given the Patriots some life, helping them to look like a contender again. NFL analyst Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report gave Maye a letter grade of "A+" for his performance.

The most impressive part of his outings has been the resilience of the young quarterback, who started off the season very slowly. But Maye has seemed to figure something out over the last few weeks, helping the Patriots turn the year around.

Maye's decision-making has been great to see, with the quarterback taking ownership of his early-season mistakes. This has allowed the Patriots to navigate any lapses on defense, giving them a chance to win games.

The Patriots are now in a good place for the AFC East division, having a win over the rival Buffalo Bills. This team seems to be putting it all together on the field, with Maye leading the charge due to his play.

New England should be getting back star wide receiver A.J. Brown pretty soon, offering Maye more talent to work with. The Patriots envisioned having an explosive offense when trading for Brown this offseason, but the star was injured in Week 1.

It has been a good last few weeks for the Patriots, but this team understands that the job isn't done yet. There is still a lot of the NFL season left to go, and consistency will be the key for this group moving forward.

This team will be hosting the New York Jets this weekend, giving them a chance to earn another AFC East win. Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. PT/1:00 p.m. ET from Gillette Stadium.
