The Patriots VP of Personnel knows exactly what this team needs on draft night.

The time for talking about who the New England Patriots will take No. 21 overall is nearing an end. Their first pick of the night draws near, and the Patriots' VP of Personnel knows where this team needs to look.

With so much going on right now around the New England Patriots, the one constant has been Eliot Wolf's public handling of the moves the Patriots may or may not make in the next few days.

For weeks, Wolf has talked to the media about a potential trade for A.J. Brown, the idea of bringing Stefon Diggs back, Christian Gonzalez's contract extension, and the team's needs in the NFL draft.

Wolf sat down with ESPN's Mike Reiss on draft day and spoke about who the team will be looking at to take in the first round.

"Every draft is different," Wolf told Reiss. "Offensive line is an area that we could use some depth, and it's a pretty good offensive line draft. Particularly high up there in the first round."

Did Wolf give away what position they want to draft in the first round?

From edge rushers to off-ball linebackers, tight ends, and adding in a third running back, it definitely does feel that the top priority for the Patriots on night one of the draft will be the offensive linemen.

The Patriots saw center Garrett Bradbury leave for the Chicago Bears, then shifted Jared Wilson to center. They plan to keep Will Campbell at left tackle; they have added Alijah Vera-Tucker in free agency but now must find an answer to have some depth behind the aging Morgan Moses at right tackle.

The Patriots Roundtable Podcast this week saw Eddie and Tyler taking a tackle in the first round as well. See the full episode below to see who they went with.

The answer is clear: Wolf and head coach Mike Vrabel, and just about everyone else, saw the team's offensive line crumble in the Super Bowl. If they want to keep Drake Maye's growth on the up and up, they need to have him protected to keep him thriving in 2026 and beyond.
