The Patriots have a tough test this week against Green Bay.
The New England Patriots were able to take down the Miami Dolphins last week, improving their record to 5-3 on the season.
New England didn't play the prettiest game on the field, but at this point for them, a win is a win. With all the injuries that the Patriots have seen take place, especially to the offense, the team has been able to stay alive.
This week, the Patriots will be hosting the Green Bay Packers, giving the team a real challenge on its hands. Green Bay, like New England, has started to play much better of late, finally put things together on the field.
The Packers will be entering the game with a record of 5-3, with both sides of the ball clicking for the team. New England is going to have to be careful in this game; otherwise, they could be on the losing end of the contest.
Analysts Gary Davenport, Brad Gagnon, Kris Knox, Moe Moton, Brent Sobleski, Wes O'Donnell, and Ian Hanford of Bleacher Report all made picks for the game between the two teams. But six of the seven experts went with Green Bay to take down the Patriots in this matchup.
Only Gagnon went with New England to win the game, despite this contest being played at home for the Patriots. But the Packers recent play likely has to do with how confident those around the league are heading into the week.
One key for New England this week will be how quarterback Drake Maye performs, especially when it comes to turnovers. The Green Bay defense can be feisty at times, using its opportunistic nature to get the best of opposing quarterbacks.
Maye will have to find a way to overcome the injuries that the Patriots have seen this year, going against this tough defense. But the veteran quarterback has done well this year, even with his issues earlier in the season.
Against Green Bay, the Patriots may need to rely on the running game a little more, taking some pressure off Maye's shoulders. Head coach Mike Vrabel will have to put his signal-caller into a strong position to win, avoiding any issues.
The offensive line will also need to hold up in the game, giving Maye time to throw the ball against this defensive front. Kickoff for the Patriots game against the Packers is scheduled to take place at 1:25 p.m. PT/4:25 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
