One NFL insider sees the New England Patriots' offense being even better this coming season.
While the New England Patriots couldn't finish the job of winning the Super Bowl last season, the year was still very successful.
New England entered the year without many expectations, especially with a young quarterback in Drake Maye leading the way. But the Patriots exceeded all expectations for the year, gaining some valuable experience throughout the season.
However, the goal is to win the Super Bowl, not simply make the big game. And when the Patriots played the Seattle Seahawks, they were exposed, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
New England didn't have a true go-to wide receiver for Maye, leaving them vulnerable at times during the year. But the front office decided to fix the problem this offseason, bringing in star wideout A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brown now offers this team a true No 1 option for Maye, and it should only help the development of the signal-caller. Maye now has someone he can fully go to in clutch moments, and Brown has made a career off this type of role.
So heading into the new season, the Patriots offense should be strong once again.
In fact, they come in ranked as the No. 7 predicted unit by Dan Parr of NFL.com entering the year. New England had a top offense a year ago, but they should be even deeper and stronger in 2026.
The team also signed veteran wideout Romeo Doubs as well, giving Maye more to work with. Having both Brown and Doubs should help space out the field, allowing Maye to do more damage.
Maye fully broke out this past season, even with thin help at the wide receiver position. The young quarterback threw for 4,394 yards with 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
His play was electric, leading New England to the deep playoff run.
The sky is truly the limit for this Patriots team coming into the season, but they will no longer be a surprise to anyone. Being the AFC champions, all other teams will be coming for the Patriots, hoping to knock them off.
Winning brings higher expectations and pressure. But only time will tell if the Patriots can handle it all coming into this crucial year.
But at least for now, there seems to be a lot of good vibes around this New England team, and they will be looking to finish the job this time around.
