Drake Maye and the New England Patriots lost to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

During an interview at The Masters over the weekend with his wife, Ann Michael, New England Patriots star QB Drake Maye opened up about losing the Super Bowl to the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks beat the Patriots by a final score of 29-13 in Super Bowl LX.

"I think that's the biggest thing about it: It's humbling. You've got to get back to work. When you're so close and within reach, you want that feeling," Maye said. "Everybody says, 'You'll be back.' It's not that easy. So, we've got to get back to work, and I'm looking forward to trying to prove to myself that we can get back and just have another year to get a chance at it."

Maye finished the Super Bowl with 295 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and two interceptions. It's fair to wonder how he would have played against the Seahawks had he not gotten hurt against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.

A UNC product, Maye finished the 2025 regular season with 4,394 passing yards and 31 passing touchdowns while completing 72.0% of his passes. He finished in second in MVP voting to Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford.

"Everybody's got the same goal this time of year: to get back to that game," Maye said. "I think knowing that we were there and had a chance at it is just that much more fulfilling for me being able to reach that."

The Patriots cut Stefon Diggs and added Romeo Doubs this offseason. They have been heavily linked to Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown, who could get traded after June 1. Mike Vrabel coached Brown on the Tennessee Titans.

Maye enters next season with 6,670 passing yards and 49 passing touchdowns in his career. It will be interesting to see if the Patriots can get back to the Super Bowl next season and win it all in Year 2 of the Vrabel era and Year 3 of the Maye era.
