New England Patriots QB Drake Maye is dealing with a right shoulder injury.

We have some good news on New England Patriots QB Drake Maye.

The MVP finalist told reporters at the Super Bowl that he "turned a corner" with his right shoulder injury upon the team's arrival in Santa Clara on Sunday afternoon.

Maye injured his right shoulder in the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos.

"I'm feeling good," Maye said. "I'll be just fine. I think I turned a corner landing on the flight, felt good from the flight, and throwing out there today. I really had no doubt in being 100 percent for the game.

"It's the Super Bowl. You get two weeks to prepare for it. Do whatever you have to do to get it right and I've got confidence and feel good. I threw a good bit [on Monday]. I threw as much as I would in a practice and it felt great."

Maye threw for 533 yards and four touchdowns in three AFC playoff games against the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans and Broncos. He had six fumbles and two interceptions.

A UNC product, Maye finished the 2025 regular season with 4,394 passing yards and 31 passing touchdowns while completing 72.0% of his passes. He is already one of the best QBs in the NFL despite only being a second-year player.

Maye and the Patriots face Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl. It's a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX, a game Tom Brady and New England won, 28-24.

This could be a historic season for the Patriots. Not only is the team one win away from winning the Super Bowl, but head coach Mike Vrabel and Maye are also finalists for awards.

Vrabel could win the Coach of the Year Award, while Maye could win MVP.

Vrabel, who won three Super Bowls as a star linebacker for the Patriots, could become the first person in NFL history to also win as a head coach for the same franchise.
