The Patriots wideout has found himself tied to trade rumors as the NFL Draft approaches.
As the trade rumors have intensified around A.J. Brown's potential arrival in Foxborough as a New England Patriot, another player has also found himself in the mix with trade rumors, and that's deep threat wide receiver Kayshon Boutte.
Boutte indeed knew how to make a play downfield in 2025 for the Patriots. Boutte had 33 receptions for 551 yards along with six touchdowns over fourteen games and had one of the best catches of the season in the Divisional Round win over the Houston Texans.
Boutte has now found his name on the trade block, it seems, in order for the Patriots to potentially gain more draft capital and send the wideout elsewhere in the final year of his contract.
As this news became prominent, it also became known that Boutte did not take part in the team's voluntary workouts this week. Yet, that doesn't mean he wasn't putting in work to get ready for 2026, no matter where he plays.
Boutte took to his Instagram stories this week and posted some pics of family down on the beach in Miami, a mere 1200 miles from Massachusetts. He also popped up in what seems like a friend or trainer's stories, catching passes and running drills.
We will know soon enough if Boutte is dealt out of town. The NFL draft is less than 24 hours away right now. If the Patriots want to lump him in a trade package centered around the No. 31 overall pick, it'd be a shame, but with the news headlines as of late, it would be understandable.
Boutte's absence from team workouts does seem to have a connection from the outside in, but when asked about missing the workouts, head coach Mike Vrabel said he was in contact with his wide receiver.
"Don't really try to have a sense of anything why guys don't come," Vrabel said, via Boston Herald's Doug Kyed. "It's voluntary. But I will tell you that Kayshon has communicated; I texted him and told him that I respected him for doing so."
If Boutte is still a Patriot by next month, he can take part in voluntary OTAs on May 27th. Mandatory minicamp begins a few weeks later, on June 15th.
