Could the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys come together for a massive trade this offseason?

The New England Patriots need a new No. 1 WR after parting ways with Stefon Diggs, which is why Moe Moton of Bleacher Report has linked Mike Vrabel and Co. to a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys.

According to Ian Rapoport, WR George Pickens won't report to the Cowboys' facilities without a new deal after the club franchise-tagged him. To avoid a potential holdout situation, Dallas can ship Pickens off to New England, per Moton.

"To avoid a potential holdout situation, Dallas can ship Pickens off to the New England Patriots, who have been heavily linked to wide receiver A.J. Brown in the rumor mill," Moton wrote. "According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles want at least a first-round pick for Brown. New England should be able to get Pickens at a lesser cost in draft capital.

"Rapoport believes the Cowboys would accept a second-round pick for Pickens, which is a fair price for the Patriots if he becomes their go-to pass-catcher over Romeo Doubs. With $51.6 million in cap space, New England can afford to acquire Pickens and sign him to a lucrative extension, while quarterback Drake Maye is still a year away from being eligible for a new deal."

Pickens had a special season for the Cowboys in 2025. He caught 93 balls for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Patriots signed former Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs after releasing Diggs. A one-two punch of Doubs and Pickens would be lethal for New England.

Pickens has been in the NFL since 2022. He has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cowboys and will enter next season with 267 catches for 4,270 yards and 21 touchdowns.

In Year 1 of the Vrabel era, the Patriots made it all the way to the Super Bowl. New England lost to the Seattle Seahawks.

The Patriots have one of the best starting QBs in the NFL in Drake Maye. The UNC product finished the 2025 regular season with 4,394 passing yards and 31 passing touchdowns while completing 72.0% of his passes.

It will be fascinating to see if the Patriots acquire another WR after signing Doubs.
